Prerequisite: One year or more of harp lessons, bring your own lever or pedal harp (any size.)
Join us for the 4th Annual Northern Colorado Summer Harp Festival.
This is an exciting experience where harpists of all ages and skill levels come together to grow as musicians and share their love of playing the harp. During the festival week, harpists participte in daily three-hour separate ensemble classes for youth, teens, and adults. Additionally there are two special guest presentations on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons that are included in the registration cost. Finally, to finish off the week, all ensembles come together at Colorado State University’s Griffin Concert Hall to perform a harp extravaganza concert that is open to the public.

Harp Move In, Opening Reception, and Harp Demonstration 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
New this year! On Sunday July 24th we will have a harp move in time from 6:00 – 6:20 p.m. This is a great time to get your harp set up at Magnolia Music Studio for the coming week and to meet some of your fellow harpists. Then at 6:30 the program will begin with harp trio music fitting our theme of On Wind and Wings of Song performed by Frances Cobb, Rachel Starr Ellins, and Alaina Bongers. Our featured presenter for the evening is cross strung harpist Cheyenne Dane. She will give a presentation about this unique kind of harp as well as play some of her own compositions and arrangements.
Monday-Friday daily three-hour intensive harp classes held at Magnolia Music Studio
Youth (age 8-12) 9:00am-noon
Teen (age 13-18) 2:00pm-5:00pm Mon/Wed/Fri 1:00-4:00pm Tues/Thurs due to the workshop and masterclass
Adult (age 18-adult) 6:00pm-9:00pm Mon/Tues/Wed/Friday. 6:45-p:30pm Thursday due to the masterclass
Tuesday 4:15 p.m. – 6: 30 pm: Masterclass with guest harpist Rachel Starr Ellins.
Thursday 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 pm: Music Theory… not just a bunch of Yucky Words Workshop - A practical approach to incorporating music theory concepts into your playing taught by festival director Alaina Bongers.

6:00-7:00pm Combined Harp Festival CONCERT at Colorado State University Griffin Concert Hall, University Center for the Arts, 1400 Remington St., Fort Collins. Doors open at 5:30pm. Free public concert.
