Soprano, Alexandra Cathryn Trosper received a Bachelor of Music Education Degree and a Masters Degree in Vocal Performance from Colorado State University where she studied voice with Tiffany Blake, Todd Queen, and Cynthia Vaughn. Alexandra was an Opera Fort Collins Apprentice Artist 2011-2013, performing in main stage productions, educational outreach, and the popular opera wine dinners at Enzios. Opera Fort Collins mainstage roles include Della in David Conte’s adaptation of the classic O’Henry story, “The Gift of the Magi” and a featured solo dancer in “Amahl and the Night Visitors.” She was a soloist for the grand opening gala for the Charles and Reta Ralph Opera Center at CSU, where her opera roles included Hannah/Franz Lehar’s “The Merry Widow”, Governess/Britten’s “The Turn of the Screw”, Laetitia/Menotti’s “The Old Maid and the Thief”, Johanna/Sondheim’s “Sweeney Todd”, Queen of the Night/Mozart’s “The Magic Flute”, and Barbarina/Mozart’s “Le nozze di Figaro.” Other operas performance include Faust, Daughter of the Regiment, Rigoletto, Carmen, and Street Scene. Internationally, Alexandra performed opera scenes in Shanghai for East China Normal College cultural exchange and helped prepare music for World Youth Day singers in Spain and Rome. She teaches classical technique as well as popular styles and music theater. Alex teaches voice at Denver’s “School of Rock” and will be the vocal coach for this summer’s new Contemporary Music Camp at Magnolia. Alexandra teaches individual lessons for all ages and is a youth choir and adult choir director and cantor.
